The legendary Yemalla jackets were born in 1989 by two adventurous French partners. They stopped producing them and went their separate ways. The story begins again when the daughters of one of them, having grown up surrounded by the jackets, show interest in them and insist their father to produce them again.
After years of research and testing with different factories we have found the perfect formula and can boast of offering a quality product full of history.
Our jackets are different from the rest because of the beautiful tapestry on the back and collar. This tapestry is completely handmade in the traditional looms of an Andean village, and therefore each design is unique. The colors vary between the same motif, as we give our artisans the creative freedom to choose and combine them following their ancient knowledge and instincts.
These delicate pieces of art are shipped from South America to our trusted factory in Portugal, where seamstresses make our jackets from scratch, combining the denim fabric with the tapestries and following the original 1989 pattern.
Our production choices have been made with the aim of respecting environmental standards and supporting the work of great artisans and small factories, all this promoting ethical and sustainable fashion.
